Boone, NC – The Boone Police Department would like to warn the public about scam calls in which the caller pretends to be a member of the Boone Fire Department and attempts to solicit donations.
If anyone contacts you by mail, phone, or email stating they are from the Boone Fire Department and requests donations, please do not provide any personal information or pay any money in response.
Neither the Boone Fire Department nor the Boone Police Department contact citizens requesting donations as they are tax supported. If you receive such a contact, we would encourage you to notify the Boone Police Department.
