AVERY COUNTY, N.C. — The Avery County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 17-year-old girl classified as an endangered runaway.
Abbigayle Richardson, known as “Abbie,” was last seen on April 23, 2026, near the Avery County Courthouse. She was reported missing to the Avery County Sheriff's Office on April 27, 2026.
Abbigayle is described as approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 110 pounds, with green eyes. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. She has a distinguishing tattoo of a spiderweb on her hand between her thumb and index finger.
Anyone with information on Abbigayle's whereabouts is asked to contact the Avery County Communications Center at 828-733-5855. Tips can also be submitted through the Avery County Sheriff's Office App, available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
