For the second time in less than a week the High Country mourns the loss of a young life, this time due to a wreck.
The wreck involving 5 teens occured Thursday night just after 10:30pm near 4842 Meat Camp Road. According to one report 16 year old Dillon Luther Critcher of Deerfield Road was killed, reports also indicate that he was riding in the bed of the truck when it overturned. Many local EMS officials responded to the scene, and two WINGS helicopters were dispactched to land at Green Valley School.
Reports say the truck was traveling south bound and ran off a recently paved section of the road. It does not appear alcohol was a factor. No word this morning on the condition of the other 4 teens.
The report of yet another loss of a young life comes on the heels of the High Country still coping with the death of 4 year old Peyton Townsend on Friday June 8. Townsend was killed when a tombstone fell on her just before the start of Vacation Bible School. More information on that story here.
