Stolen Box Truck Recovered – Two Arrested

Creston N.C. – B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of 45-year-old Joey Lee
Hamm of Creston and 47-year-old Teresa Lynn Osborne of Creston for
larceny of a motor vehicle. After Sheriffs Detectives and Deputies located
the stolen Box Truck taken from the Creston Fire Department.

On February 28th, 2025, Deputy Baldwin received a larceny call from the
Creston Fire Department. The Department advised that a 2020 Chevrolet
Box Truck had been stolen from the department's parking lot around
midnight. The case was then turned over to Ashe County Detective Scott
Milam. On March 12th, 2025, Milam recovered the stolen box truck and
found it in working order with no major damage. The truck was returned to
the Creston Fire Department.

Detective Milam obtained warrants for larceny of a motor vehicle for Joey
Lee Hamm of Creston and Teresa Lee Osborne for aid & abet larceny.
Detective Milam placed Teresa under arrest without further incident.

On March 19th, 2025, Ashe County Sheriff's Sgt. Daniel Cox was patrolling
when he recognized the driver of a vehicle a s Joey Hamm. Knowing that
Hamm had outstanding warrants, Deputy Cox initiated a traffic stop and
arrested H a m m without further incident.
Joey Lee Hamm, 46 years of age, of Creston, was arrested and booked
under a $10,000 secured bond and was later released. His charges
include:

  • Felony Break or Enter a Motor Vehicle
  • Felony Larceny of Motor Vehicle

Teresa Lynn Osborne, 47 years of age, of Creston, was arrested and
booked under a $25,000 unsecured bond. Her charges include:

  • Felony Aid and Abet larceny
