…INCREASED FIRE DANGER THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR NORTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA…
Dry surface conditions and gusty southwest winds will create an
increased threat for fire danger conditions for northwest North
Carolina through this evening.
Relative humidity values may drop to 25 percent or lower, and
wind gusts between 15 and 30 mph are expected. Wind gusts will be
strongest at higher elevations.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you may burn outdoors today. If you do burn, use extreme caution
since fires can increasingly escalate under these conditions.
