Motorists should be aware of a road closure for an annual event and increased traffic due to a home App State game this week.

First the road closure for Boone BOO! will take place on Wednesday, October 30th. King Street (from Appalachian to Waters Street) will be closed from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. to help ensure pedestrian safety and allow for safe and fun trick-or-treating for everyone.

Parking will be FREE in Town of Boone metered spots and at the pay stations beginning at 12pm, according to Lane Moody with the Town of Boone. She also adds that, “ASU has graciously offered to open the Peacock parking lot beginning at 4pm to give us additional parking for the event.”

The other highly anticipated event takes place on Halloween night when the 20th ranked App State Mountaineers host Georgia Southern. Kickoff is slated for 8pm and will also be broadcast on ESPNU.

For those attending either event keep in mind of very wet weather conditions. The National Weather Services says there's a 90% chance of rain Wednesday through late Thursday night. Lows Wednesday night are expected to be in the upper 50s and dropping into the 30s for Halloween night.
