Boone Heights Drive will be closed near the Blowing Rock Road intersection for approximately two to three weeks for the installation of a new sewer main, according to the Watauga Democrat. The work will tentatively start Sept. 18.
The closure will impact only traffic entering Blowing Rock Road from Boone Heights Drive. Traffic turning off Blowing Rock Road onto Boone Heights Drive will still have access.
Drivers can use State Farm Road and Deerfield Road or Shadowline Drive to access Blowing Rock Road.
After the Boone Heights Drive work is completed, the installation will continue along Blowing Rock Road toward the Kmart entrance. While the work is taking place, detours will be posted, and traffic control will be in place to ensure safety for drivers and workers.
