App State Athletics is excited to welcome fans, friends, opponents and visitors to Kidd Brewer Stadium in 2022. We aim to make your experience at The Rock an enjoyable one. This A-to-Z Fan Guide is designed to assist you in your preparation for attending our beautiful stadium and cheering on the nationally recognized Mountaineers. Arrive early, stay late, be loud and be respectful.
Accessibility
- For information on parking and seating for guests that have disabilities, contact the Athletics Ticket Office at 828-262-7733, visit the ticket office at the Holmes Convocation Center prior to the game, or visit the customer service booths outside the north end zone on game day.

Beer
- Beer is sold at a variety of locations throughout the stadium through the end of the third quarter.
- Per NC law, all patrons of legal drinking age are permitted to purchase a maximum of two alcoholic beverages per valid ID for each transaction.
- Patrons will not be permitted to leave the stadium with alcohol purchased within the venue.
- All beer is $10 per can except for App State’s new official craft beer, Mountain Brew, which is $8.

Clear Bag Policy
- Kidd Brewer Stadium has employed a clear bag policy since 2017, intended to enhance patron safety and expedite stadium entry by reducing the time required searching bags at stadium gates. The policy aligns with clear bag policies from other NCAA FBS institutions and the National Football League.
- Approved bags include clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”.
- Bags that are not approved include diaper bags, backpacks, binocular cases, camera cases, tinted or printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, oversized tote bags & mesh bags, and purses exceeding 4.5” x 6.5”.
Concerts
- Pregame concerts will take place on the Jerry Moore Plaza outside the north end zone at least three games this fall.
- App State alum and country music singer Adam Church will perform before the Sept. 3 season opener (noon kickoff) from 9:45-11 a.m.
Concessions
- This fall’s concessions have been streamlined to offer more points of sale and a condensed menu for faster lines.
- Concessions stands take cash and card, with a dedicated cash-only lane at each main concessions stand on the East and West concourse.
- The new Locker Room Grab & Go station with quick snacks and beverages will be available in the West concourse.
- Additional food trucks will be present throughout the stadium, including The Cardinal, Hungry Howies, Ben & Jerry’s, Just Wing It and Cupcrazed. Knowledge Perk (coffee) will be present in the Jerry Moore Plaza.
Customer Service
- For sold-out games, the ticket windows at the front of the north end zone will serve as customer service booths for fan questions on game day.

Exit/Re-Entry
- Fans who exit Kidd Brewer Stadium during the game may not re-enter.
First Aid
- First aid stations are located behind sections 101 and 102 on the West side and under section 218 on the East side.
Food Trucks
- Additional food trucks will be present throughout the stadium, including The Cardinal, Hungry Howies, Ben & Jerry’s, Just Wing It and Cupcrazed. Knowledge Perk (coffee) will be present in the Jerry Moore Plaza.
Free ice cream at Sept. 3 season opener
- Mars ice cream bars – 20,000 total! – will be handed out for free by App State student-athletes and other personnel outside the stadium before the Sept. 3 season-opening noon kickoff against North Carolina.
Gate Openings
- For the Sept. 3 opener vs. North Carolina, gates will open 2 hours prior to kickoff (10 a.m.). Student Yosef Club members can enter through the Echota West Gate as early as 9 a.m. with their mobile ticket, while other students can enter at 9:30 a.m. with their mobile ticket.
- Gate opening times for other games will be communicated prior to each game day.
Grab & Go
- The new Locker Room Grab & Go station will be available in the West concourse.
Junior Mountaineer Kids Club
- Mountaineer fans 8th grade and younger can join the Junior Mountaineer Kids Club to receive exclusive JMKC gear and experiences at App State Athletics events.
Lost and Found
- Any lost items during the game will be brought to the first-floor lobby of the Ricks Athletics Complex (or the first-floor lobby of the North End Zone facility for patrons in the North End Zone.
- After the game, all unclaimed items are turned over to the App State Police Department (828-262-2150).

Merchandise
- More merchandise locations will be present this year in the West and East concourses, as well as the north end zone.
Mobile App
- Download the new App State Athletics mobile app to get the latest updates and promotions for App State game days and sports teams. Enable push notifications to get up-to-date alerts for game days and other strategic times.
Mobile Tickets
- Kidd Brewer Stadium non-premium tickets are digital starting in 2022. Follow these instructions for how to deliver, add, manage, transfer and present your mobile tickets.
- Fans should download their mobile tickets to their phone before arriving at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
- For fans who have not yet downloaded their tickets, two mobile ticket download stations will be available next to Trivette Hall and in the residence hall quad between Laurel Creek Hall, Thunder Hill Hall and Raven Rocks Hall.
- For faster entry, there will be more gates open and more ticket scanners at entrances.
Mountaineer Walk
- The App State football team will walk from Roess Dining Hall up Stadium Drive to Kidd Brewer Stadium roughly 2 hours, 45 minutes before kickoff on each game day.
- Mountaineer Walk for the Sept. 3 season opener will begin at 9:15 a.m.
Music
- A professional DJ has been hired to run PA music for each home game this fall to complement music provided by the Marching Mountaineers.
Outside Food & Drink
- No outside food or drink is accepted into Kidd Brewer Stadium. One unopened standard-size bottle of water per patron is allowed.
Parking & Tailgating
- Yosef Club parking lot information and map.
- Yosef Club parking lots will open for tailgating at 8 a.m. for games with 2:30 or 3:30 p.m. start times (subject to change).
- Yosef Club parking lots will open for tailgating at 7 a.m. for the Sept. 3 season opener vs. UNC.
- Fans who do not have a Yosef Club parking pass can park for free at Levine College of Health Sciences (75 first-come, first-serve spaces) and take the AppalCART route to campus. Other game day parking options can be found at Explore Boone’s Guide to Game Day Parking.
- Tailgating times are subject to change based on kickoff times as they are announced.
- Malt beverages and unfortified wine may be consumed in designated tailgating locations by those fans of legal drinking age. Those who choose to consume alcohol must be able to present a valid driver’s license or photo ID to reflect their age upon request. Spiritous liquor, kegs, common containers and glass containers are not permitted in any tailgating location. No outside alcohol is permitted inside Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Premium Areas
- In addition to sold-out club and suite premium areas, tickets are available for the Rock Garden, a premium field-level lounge in the north end zone for all games except the Sept. 3 opener vs. UNC.
- With temporary bleachers in the north end zone for the UNC game, a premium field-level area called the Mountaineer Lounge will be present in the southeast corner of the stadium. It is sold out.

Restrooms
- In addition to permanent restrooms on all four sides of Kidd Brewer Stadium, App State is bringing portable toilets to supplement in concourses and under the temporary north end zone bleachers for the Sept. 3 UNC game.
- Additional portable toilets are also being provided in parking/tailgate areas.
Schedule
- The complete 2022 App State football schedule can be found here. Game times are subject to change. Most game times and TV designations will be assigned 12 days before each game day.
Shuttles
- Fans who do not have a Yosef Club parking pass can park for free at Levine College of Health Sciences (75 first-come, first-serve spaces) and take the AppalCART route to campus. Other game day parking and shuttle options can be found at Explore Boone’s Guide to Game Day Parking.
- AppalCART also provides a shuttle from Hill Street ADA parking to Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Smoking
- Kidd Brewer Stadium is a smoking-free facility. Smoking of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes is strictly prohibited.
Sustainability
- Additional waste and recycling bins are being added at entrance gates and throughout the stadium.
- The new Locker Room Grab & Go station will include more aluminum cans and less plastic products for better environmental sustainability.
- Fans are encouraged to recycle plastic, glass, metal and clean paperboard products in green recycling receptacles.
Tagboard
- Fans who use each game’s custom hashtag (e.g. #BeatUNC) will have the chance to see their social media posts shared on the main video board during game day.
Temporary Bleachers
- For the Sept. 3 opener vs. UNC only, temporary bleachers (2,000+ seats) have been added in the north end zone to account for the increase in demand for that game. Sold out in July, the opener is expected to be the highest attendance for a game in Kidd Brewer Stadium history.
Tickets
- Visit appstatesports.com/tickets to purchase single-game tickets for 2022 football games.
- Season tickets sold out in July. Tickets for the Sept. 3 UNC game also sold out in July. All non-student guest tickets for the Oct. 1 Family Weekend game vs. The Citadel sold out in August. Limited tickets remain for the other four home games.
Traffic Flow
- During pregame, on-campus traffic for vehicles with parking passes will be routed up Stadium and Jack Branch Drive and out by Stadium Deck, the Schaeffer Center and back onto Rivers Street.
- Postgame traffic will all be directed away from Kidd Brewer Stadium. App State police and traffic attendants will determine which way traffic is routed onto Rivers Street and away from campus based on the flow or backup of vehicles.
TVs
- Fans can enjoy live footage of the game in progress on TVs in the East and West concourses, as well as premium areas.
Video Board
- Constructed in 2017, the main Kidd Brewer Stadium video board has 2,500 square feet of 13HD technology by Daktronics. It measures 50 feet high by 90 feet wide. Ribbon boards on the East, West and North give fans an immersive video board experience.
Water Bottles
- One unopened standard-size bottle of water per patron is allowed. No other outside food or drink is accepted into Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Water Fountains
- Water fountains are available in the concourses.
Weather Delays
- If lightning is detected within eight miles, stadium patrons must be evacuated for their safety until the storm has passed.
- Any evacuation procedures will be instructed via the in-stadium PA announcer.
- Visitors can also sign up for stadium safety alerts by texting AppStateALERT to 67283 on game day.
Yosef Club
- The Yosef Club is the annual fundraising component of the Mountaineers Athletic Fund.
- Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022, the Yosef Club’s primary purpose is to provide scholarships for App State student-athletes.
- Yosef Club members receive a variety of benefits like football and basketball parking access, a quarterly newsletter and special events throughout the year.
