William Holt Announced As New Emergency Services Director

A new Emergency Services Director for Watauga County was announced this week.

Watauga County Manager Deron Geouque says in a statement, “Watauga County is pleased to announce that William Holt joined Watauga County as the new Emergency Services Director on September 24, 2018.”

Holt is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant supervising field paramedics, disaster management teams, and trauma teams for mass casualty conditions.   He also has leadership experience with numerous emergency services agencies including Charlotte Fire Department and Forsyth County Emergency Services.

In addition to earning numerous certifications, awards and honors, William holds an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Protection Technology, Emergency Preparedness Technology; a Bachelor of Science in Emergency & Disaster Management; and a Masters of Public Administration.

Geouque went on to say, “I am confident in Will’s ability to lead our Emergency Services Department well and look forward to him continuing the quality and level of services provided by the Emergency Services Department.”
