33 degrees in Boone at 4:30am. A dense fog advisory was issued overnight but has since been lifted.

5:15am per a Facebook report coming in – " Coming in from foscoe on 221/105 through town just now, no issues"

5:30am – still 33 degrees in Boone, very windy across the area. Wind gusts above 40mph this morning. No reported road issues.

No anticipated travel issues this morning. Patchy fog for some and high winds for others.

The weather "should be" calmer today than Tuesday, however snow, high winds and cold will be the story starting tomorrow.

Limited operations, possible lane closures near Elk Ridge Lane on 321 in Blowing Rock today. Slow down, stay alert. Call 828-964-3260 for info.

9:50am- Officer out with a wreck on 105 near Fun-N-Wheels, no injuries but vehicles are still in the roadway

7:43pm – first report of snow coming in from the Watauga/Avery line on 105

7:50pm from facebook “First flurries. 421 N in Vilas.” , “It's snowing big flakes on Rich Mountain!”, Also reports of snow in Boone, Meat Camp, Zionville

8:05pm – getting one report of “sleet/snow mess at bottom of rock crusher hill on 105” Keep an eye out for the possibility of quick cover on some roads is this burst continues.

8:38pm – looks like that was the first quick burst of snow. Winter Weather Advisory up until 4pm tomorrow. Updates resume early Thursday morning
