A Mountain City, Tennessee man that was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations Top Ten Most Wanted list on Tuesday was arrested Friday night in Avery County.

Avery County Sheriff Kevin Frye tells WataugaOnline.com that Robert Lynn Fletcher was hiding in some woods near Newland and was taken into custody by deputies around 8:30 pm.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI) had information that Fletcher was at a residence in Avery, according to the Sheriff. A search by the Avery Sheriff's Office and TBI found evidence that Fletcher had been there, though he was not there at the time. Deputies left the scene, waited until dusk and then walked back to the residence through the woods, where they encountered the suspect.

Fletcher was wanted by the Mountain City Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for two counts of aggravated rape, possession with intent to sale or deliver schedule II methamphetamine, manufacture of schedule VI marijuana, and maintaining a dwelling for sale of narcotics.
