Spring Like Temperatures To Give Way To A March Cool Down

Last Updated on March 15, 2016 3:38 pm

With temperatures in the 60's and 70's over the last 11 days it's notably hard not to have Spring Fever. But a return to more normal March readings is on the way starting this week.

Temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 30s on Thursday night and down to around 30 for Sunday night. Highs are expected to reach the lower 50s on Friday, mid 40s for Saturday and down to the upper 30s for Sunday. The National Weather Service notes that as colder air moves in Saturday night and Sunday morning there is the possibility of snow in the higher elevations. “Winter weather problems are not anticipated due to the extended warm spell we have just experienced and warm ground temperatures”, the Weather Service says. If there were to be any accumulations it would be in areas above 3500 feet, and even then only on grassy surfaces.

It is worth noting that officially for Boone so far this year, the highest temperature was recorded on Tuesday March 15 of 71 degrees.
