Shower and storms are moving through the High Country in the 9pm hour. Strong winds and storms reported from Elk Park in Avery County, report from Mountain City TN of very strong winds with storms and hail, hail reported on the backside of Beech Mountain, and numerous reports of thunder and lighting in Watauga County.
9:30pm- Heavy rain, thunder, lightning, hail and some significant wind on Laurel Creek in western Watauga.
Small hail in Sugar Grove and Valle Crucis
9:35pm – Heavy rain and hail now in Zionville area. Still some thunder and lightning.
9:40pm- numerous reports of hail in Watauga County, most of the hail reports indicate pea size.
9:55pm- still getting numerous reports of storms, strong winds and pea size hail in the area.
