Shooting On Archie Carroll Road Leads To Victim Being Airlifted

Watauga County Sheriff Len Hagaman tells WataugaOnline.com that Justin Martin Williams, 29, of 191 Ash Drive, Charlestown, Ind. was arrested May 31 and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Williams was issued a $250,000 secured bond and a July 18 court date.


Deputies with the Watauga County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a shooting early Tuesday evening on Archie Carroll Road.

The dispatch, around 6pm, involved a shooting at 415 Archie Carroll Road. Scanner dispatches at the time indicated that a female suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

Watauga County Sheriff Len Hagaman tells WataugaOnline.com on Tuesday night that WCSO Patrol and Criminal Investigators, along with District Attorney's Office, are processing the scene and conducting interviews. According to the Sheriff's report:  The male suspect was located on scene and detained while Deputy Scott and Detective Gragg rendered aid to the female, and other Deputies cleared the residence.

Wings Air Rescue was dispatched to transport the injured female.
