Sexual Battery Reported On Appalachian Campus, Appalachian Police Investigating

On January 18, 2019, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a student reported to the Appalachian Police Department that she was walking behind Valborg Theater at approximately 12:45 a.m. when she was approached from behind by an unknown male. The male touched her inappropriately and exposed his genitals to her. The suspect fled the area on foot. No physical injuries were reported. 

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, 20-30 years old, approximately 5'8” tall, short blonde hair, scruffy beard, and wearing a navy blue hoodie and sweatpants.

Appalachian Police continue to investigate the incident. The university is providing resources and support to assist the victim.
