Section Of Highway 194 Closed For A Time On Wednesday After Accident Involving Pedestrian Being Struck

UPDATE – According to a Boone Police report, Terra Marie Roberts, age 32 of Boone, was crossing the road from the Three Forks Baptist Association parking lot when an Elite Carpet Cleaning truck struck her.

The driver, Richard Glenn Davis, 55 of Boone, was traveling the speed limit of 35 mph when he noticed Roberts crossing the street. Davis was unable to stop in time, and Roberts traveled about 16 feet after impact, according to the report.


A section of Highway 194 was closed on Wednesday after an accident involving a pedestrian being struck. The accident occurred just before 4pm and 194/Jefferson Road was closed from the 421 intersection to Clint Norris Road for about an hour.

The female pedestrian was crossing the highway from the Three Forks Baptist Association parking lot when a carpet cleaning truck struck her, according to a report.

WINGS air rescue was dispatched to a landing zone at Hardin Park School to transport the woman. A local resident tells WataugaOnline.com that Boone Police officers came door to door in her housing complex attempting to identify the woman because she had no ID on her. The woman was identified, according to scanner dispatches at the time, but no further information was available from Boone Police as of 7:55pm Wednesday night.
