Public Invited To View Future Site Of The Watauga County Veterans Memorial

The Town of Boone and the High Country Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America are thrilled to invite the community to visit the future site of the Watauga County Veterans Memorial located next to Town Hall at 567 W. King Street in Boone. Col. Ben Covington (USA Ret.), Lt. Col. George Brudzinski (USMC Ret.), along with Boone Mayor Rennie Brantz and Town Manager John Ward were downtown Friday, Oct. 14th at the site as the sign was erected by the Town of Boone Public Works Department.

The MOAA will be having their 10th Annual Veterans Day Program on November 11th at the Boone Mall. The Watauga Community Band will perform at 10:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 11:00 a.m. There will be an update given on the Watauga County Veterans Memorial Project, along with a WCVM information table available at the event.
