Portions of Valle Crucis and Matney were affected by power outages early Monday morning.
According to Blue Ridge Energy, at 3 am a creek washed away a 3-phase pole and tore down a power line serving the Dutch Creek and Pigeon Roost Road areas. At one point as many as 295 members were impacted, according to a tweet sent out by WataugaOnline.com at 3:38 am. Linemen were able to repair the damage and restored the remaining 212 members by 9:17 am.
Two power poles had to be reset/installed in the process, as well as repairing the line.
