UPDATE Sunday night: WataugaRoads.com has learn that the shooting took place at a Camp Joy Road address. According to a law enforcement source, another 13 year old male was handling a shotgun out of the presence of an adult when the shooting happen. The source also says that all of the juveniles involved live in Tennessee.

A portion of highway 421 in Zionville was closed for a short period of time on Saturday night, to allow for a medical helicopter landing. The portion of road at Valley Pantry was closed just after 6pm, as EMS units and Watauga County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a dispatch for a 13 year old gunshot wound victim. The condition of the victim was not immediately available from authorities on Saturday night.
