Police Respond To A Fight At Watauga High School On Wednesday

Police from several organizations responded to Watauga High School on Wednesday after backup was called for.

Garrett Price, Communications Director for Watauga County Schools, says that a student at WHS initiated a fight and was restrained by the School Resource Officer. The SRO called for back-up and several Boone PD units responded. No weapons were involved, no lockdown was called and classes quickly resumed as normal.

Boone Police tweeted out at 10:47 am that no weapons were involved.

Units from Boone Police, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office and ASU Police responded to the scene.
