Here's a recap of Thursday's road, weather reports, pictures, links.

6:42pm – Via twitter “yellowducky1982 – It's pouring in Sugar Grove! #wncwx #sugargrove”

6:20pm – L'Heureux's Weather post “UPDATE: With the trailing system moving slower, the forecast has been updated. The higher elevations will hang onto that snow longer than the lower elevations. The snow showers start tomorrow night. This is a tough call on snow totals, as the ground will be relatively warm and the snow will be of a higher density, yet there is moisture to work with (from the south). My projections are that the mountains sees about 1″ to 2″ of snowfall total (below 1″ for lower elevations).”

6:00pm – Misting rain started falling across Watauga County.

Brad Panovich, WCNC TV, rolled out his 7th Annual Carolina Winter Forecast for 2011-2012. He forecast “for Boone I'm going with 46.5″ this winter slightly above average. The peaks will be closer to 80″ This winter's pattern looks eerily similarl to last winter and we all know how that turned out.”. Here's the link to his blog with all the info.

Earlier in the day Deej Cornett sent in this picture from the western end of the county.
