Morton, son of Grandfather Mountain developer Hugh Morton and a founding member of the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation Board of Directors, passed on Saturday.
According to the bio page for Mr. Morton on the Grandfather Mountain website: Jim is the son of Grandfather Mountain developer Hugh Morton and a founding member of the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation’s Board of Directors. An accomplished photographer and writer who held a range of positions at Grandfather Mountain, Inc. including General Manager, Public Relations Director and Marketing Director, Jim was the founder of the Banner Elk Woolly Worm Festival and builder of the Profile Trail. Chairman of the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation Board of Directors.
