Niley Cook Road will be closed on Thursday (January 25, 2018) to replace a drainage pipe that washed out and is undermining the roadway.
“We completed a temporary repair last week.” David Uchiyama, NCDOT Communications Officer, tells WataugaOnline.com. The work on Thursday will begin at 8 a.m. and should be concluded by 5 p.m.
Uchiyama adds, “Closing the road is the safest and most efficient way to complete the replacement due to the location and narrow road with a limited shoulder.”
