Multiple Arrest: Larceny by Employee & Assault Inflicting Serious Injury

Anthony James Cook, age 37 of Boone was arrested today and was charged with one count of Felony Larceny by Employee. Mr. Cook is alleged to have taken money over the course of several months from Carolina West Wireless where he was employed. Mr. Cook was arrested on a Boone Police Department warrant by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Cook was taken before a Watauga County magistrate and was issued a court date of 12-18-2012 and was held on a $10,000.00 secured bond.

Christopher Alan Johnson, age 26 of Blowing Rock was also arrested today and was charged with one count of Assault Inflicting Serious Injury and one count of Injury to Personal Property. Mr. Johnson is alleged to have assaulted a Banner Elk man and damaged the man’s vehicle in the process in October of this year. He was arrested on a Boone Police Department warrant by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Johnson was taken before a Watauga County magistrate and was issued a court date of 12-18-2012 and with a written promise to appear in court.

Mr. Johnson was the second suspect arrested in this matter. Dustin Lee Johnson, age 24 was previously arrested on 10-22-2012 on a Boone Police Department warrant by the Banner Elk Police Department. He was taken before an Avery County magistrate who issued a court date of 11-27-2012, also with a written promise to appear in court.
