Multiple Agencies Respond To Injured Hiker Late Thursday Evening

Multiple emergency crews responded to an injured hiker on Thursday evening, which took over two hours to find the victim and to complete carry out.

Taylor Marsh, Watauga County Emergency Management Director, tells WataugaOnline.com the 65-year-old female suffered a broken ankle after slipping on a rock while hiking. Watauga Emergency Management, Foscoe Fire, Boone Fire, Watauga Medics and Watauga Rescue responded to the scene in Foscoe.

The woman was transported to Watauga Medical Center.
