Monday May 23

Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock. Currently several operations scheduled today including curb & gutter work, sidewalk construction, retaining wall construction, possible paving operations and concrete driveway construction. Minimal impacts to traffic are occurring with minor flagging operations and alternating traffic shifts in place from Ransom Street to Tanger Outlets.

Tuesday May 24

Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock. Several operations scheduled today including curb & gutter work, sidewalk construction, retaining wall construction, possible paving operations and concrete driveway construction. Flagging operations near Tanger Outlets for storm drain work will most likely result in delays in this area. Alternating traffic shifts are also in place from Ransom Street to Tanger Outlets.

12:22pm  – Due to serious wreck, 421N northbound lanes from 194 to New Market Blvd are closed. The accident reportedly involves a tractor trailer and a moped. That section of road is estimated to be closed for quite sometime. More information available here.

4:08pm – 421 at Jefferson Avenue is back open after fatal accident today.

Wednesday May 25

Moderate to heavy delays near Tanger Outlets on 321 for storm drain work. Several operations scheduled today including curb & gutter work, sidewalk construction, retaining wall construction, possible paving operations and concrete driveway construction.

Thursday May 26

Expect heavy delays  on 321 in Blowing Rock due to construction.

Friday May 27

According to the Watauga County Communications Dispatch office, Bamboo Road is back open around Samaritan's Purse where bridge maintenance had been taking place.

3:44pm – Expect delays on the 105 bypass at Long Street due to an accident.

5:34pm – Delays in the area of Bamboo Road and George Hayes Road due to rollover wreck.
