Traffic impacts scheduled for today on US321 in Blowing Rock include flagging at various times from Norwood Circle to Food Lion Shopping Center for pavement marking in both northbound and southbound lanes, northbound and southbound lane closures at Possum Hollow Rd for grading operations, and construction equipment will be entering/exiting the highway from West Cornish St to Food Lion Shopping Center for paving operations.
321 Southbound traffic has now been shifted onto the new alignment from West Cornish St to US 321 Bus/S. Main St. This shift places northbound and southbound traffic in their respective outside lanes relative to the median. All traffic exiting businesses along this section of the project will now be required to turn right when entering US321. Traffic needing to turn left will be required to first turn right, then travel to the nearest crossover in order to make a U-Turn. This design feature will provide much safer traffic flow through the area. Drivers are encouraged to initially allow extra time while traveling to and through this area in order to become familiar with this new traffic pattern.
Tuesday March 8
Traffic impacts scheduled for today on US321 in Blowing Rock include flagging and lane closures for both northbound and southbound approaches from Food Lion Shopping Center to Tanger Outlets for grading operations along the northbound shoulder. Paving operations on the closed future southbound lanes from West Cornish St to Food Lion Shopping Center is also scheduled for today and will result in construction equipment entering/exiting the highway from this area as well.
Wednesday March 9
Traffic impacts scheduled for today on 321 in Blowing Rock include flagging/lane closures from Norwood Circle to Pinnacle Avenue. Paving operations on the closed future southbound lanes from West Cornish St to Food Lion Shopping Center may also be scheduled for today and could result in construction equipment entering/exiting the highway from this area as well.
Thursday March 10
Traffic impacts scheduled for today on 321 in Blowing Rock include possible flagging/lane closures near Possum Hollow and slow moving operations from Norwood Circle to Blackberry Rd for pavement marking installation. Paving operations on the closed future southbound lanes from West Cornish St to Food Lion Shopping Center may also be scheduled for today later and could result in construction equipment entering/exiting the highway from this area as well.
