A long-time member of the Watauga County law enforcement community passed away unexpectedly last week while on the job in Johnson County, TN.
Jerry Dean Farmer, age 67 of Mountain City Tennessee died suddenly on Friday, September 29, 2017 while on duty at the Johnson County Courthouse, according to Mountain City Funeral Home. Farmer was in his 46th year of law enforcement, which began when he was 21 years old.
Farmer served as Deputy Sheriff in Watauga and Yancey County, Watauga Medical Center Police Officer and Chief of Security at Chetola Resort. For the last 5 years he was a Deputy Sheriff in Johnson County, TN.
Funeral Services were conducted on Wednesday, October 4, 2017
