A man was pronounced dead on the scene after a logging accident Wednesday on Blackberry Road. Watauga County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with an Investigator, responded to 3986 Blackberry Road for a tree that had fallen on a male, according to Sheriff Len Hagaman. Medics and Blowing Rock Rescue found the man already deceased upon their arrival.
The man was working for a logging company while cutting a tree and the tree bounced back onto him, according to the Sheriff’s report. The medical examiner’s office and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) responded to the scene to conduct investigations.
As of 9pm Wednesday night the man’s name had not been released by officials.
