Monday July 3

1:52pm – Getting several reports of heavy traffic in and around BooneNC. Allow extra travel time.

Tuesday July 4

REMINDER – King Street through downtown Boone will close just before 11am for the parade.

12:15pm – Per scanner, King Street in Boone is back open, the parade has concluded.

Wednesday July 5

Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with flagging operations/lane closures currently scheduled from Rock Rd near Green Park Inn to south of Cone Orchard Ln. MOTORISTS SHOULD EXPECT DELAYS at various times throughout the day from Tanger Outlets to south of Rocky Knob Rd. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down and remain alert for crews and equipment working alongside the roadway and crossing/entering/exiting the roadway at various locations throughout the project.

Thursday July 6

Expect increased traffic on 105 and into Avery County for the first day of the Highland Games.

3:52pm – Expect delays on 421/Boone Mountain in Vilas due to rollover wreck near Quality Plus.

5:32pm – Backups on 105 just across the Avery line due to a wreck and Highland Games traffic. Allow extra travel time.
