Increased Fire Danger Wednesday For The Region

Last Updated on February 17, 2023 9:27 am

The National Weather Service has issued an increased fire danger statement for Wednesday March 23. The combination of low relative humidity, increased winds and low fuel moisture will lead to increased fire danger across the western portion of North Carolina, East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Relative humidity levels in the 20% range and steady southwest winds of 10-20 mph are the main factors for the increased danger risk.

Residents in the impacted areas are discouraged from burning until conditions improve.
