Hot & Humid Conditions On Tap For The Weekend & Leading Up To And Beyond July 4, 2018

Last Updated on June 28, 2018 7:19 pm

It's gonna feel like summer over the next several days, as the High Country will experience hot and humid conditions once again in recent weeks.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says that the region will experience some of the hottest and most extended period of hot weather we have seen in quite some time. In a Thursday afternoon update NWS says, “For Friday, high pressure will continue to build into the area. Anticipate more sun than clouds, light and variable winds and temperatures trending a little higher than those of today. Highs will range from the mid to upper 80s across the mountains, with the higher elevations closer values around 80 degrees or the lower 80s.”

Rain chances are low for Saturday but NWS does add that due to diurnal heating an isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the northwest North Carolina mountains could be possible. A slight chance has been portrayed in the forecast for Saturday afternoon, but that chance could increase a little by Sunday afternoon. NWS also adds that high temperatures will reach up to 10 degrees above normal for late June.

For next week hot and increasingly humid conditions will continue.
