Authorities from multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in an early Friday morning chase across state and county lines, that ended after a 69 mile pursuit.

The chase began around 1am in Tennessee before the suspect wrecked in Avery County, according to WLOS-TV. After the suspect hid in the woods until daylight, he then stole a GMC pickup and escaped on the Blue Ridge Parkway. No one was injured, the report says, as the man passed other vehicles often in the oncoming lane.

The suspect crashed and surrendered after police in northeast Asheville used spike strips to slow him down in the Webb Cove Road area. Law enforcement in Carter County (TN), Avery County, Mitchell County, National Park Service and Buncombe County were involved in the pursuit. The report also says that the suspect stole three vehicles within an eleven hour time frame. As of Friday evening the suspect's name had not been released.
