*Town of Boone Press Release*

In preparation for Governor Roy Cooper’s visit to Downtown Boone tomorrow, Friday Aug. 4, Town of Boone Utility Billing (including the drive-through) will close at 3:30 p.m. Customers will still be able to pay their water and sewer bills on our new and improved website at www.townofboone.net. Utility Billing will re-open Monday, Aug. 7 at 8:00 a.m. and will resume normal business hours.  Please note that beginning this month, the Town has switched billing software, so the payment screen will appear different than it has in the past.

Governor Cooper will visit the High Country tomorrow to tour the Appalachian Theatre located next to Town Hall on King Street, which has recently completed its first phase of an ongoing renovation. The Governor plans to speak at approximately 4:30 p.m. under the Theatre’s new marquee.  To accommodate crowds and for safety measures, parallel parking in front of Town Hall and the Theatre will be unavailable.   The Town of Boone appreciates your patience and cooperation as we welcome Governor Cooper to our beautiful downtown.  Please contact Town Hall at (828)268-6200 for questions.
