The US Forest Service has announced seasonal road closures for the Pisgah Forest, Appalachian Ranger District and Grandfather Ranger District.

Pisgah Forest, NC, December 20, 2018 – Pisgah National Forest officials offer a reminder that several roads on the Pisgah Ranger District listed below are prone to temporary closures during snowy and icy conditions late fall through spring.
After temporary weather closures, roads will be reopened after they dry out. These temporary closures reduce road maintenance costs and protect public safety during adverse weather.
Drivers should be careful on all gravel roads during freeze-thaw cycles because the roads are especially susceptible to damage which could lead to long-term closures.
