The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has extended the

* Until 500 PM EST Saturday

* At 1021 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
moderate to heavy rain which will cause minor flooding. Another 
half inch to one inch is expected through this afternoon. This 
will lead to minor flooding of creeks and streams in the area, as 
well as low water crossings. Some washouts of low water bridges 
and gravel roads could occur.

and Marion.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
