Last Updated on September 29, 2015 8:58 am

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect until 11am Wednesday. Numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rain are expected today and tonight. Rainfall rates above one inch per hour are likely due to the very high moisture content of the air mass over the region, the watch states. Boone has now recorded rainfall for 6 straight days, with an official total of 8.04 inches through 7am Tuesday.
