A late night fire destroyed a home on Sunday in Sugar Grove. The home, at 150 Houston Harmon Road just off Mast Gap Road, was a total loss. The four people in the home were able to get out of the house, according to a report from the Watauga County Sheriff's Office.

Cove Creek Fire, Foscoe Fire, Watauga County Deputies, Watauga Medics and Watauga County Fire Marshall all responded to the scene, while the Red Cross was contacted to assist the family. Watauga County Assistant Fire Marshal Taylor Marsh tells WataugaOnline.com that a malfunction in the electrical system was the cause of the fire.
