Fire Crews Respond To Saturday Chimney Fire On Rominger Road, Countywide Chimney Fire Dispatches Almost To 2017-18 Totals

Multiple agencies responded to a chimney fire on Rominger Road on Saturday evening. 

Jay Kerley, Watauga County Assistant Fire Marshal, tells WataugaOnline.com that there was no damage to the structure at 7883 Rominger Road. The fire was contained to the chimney and crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked for any extension to the structure. 

Cove Creek Fire, Beaver Dam Fire, Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office, Watauga Medics and Watauga Rescue responded to the scene.

As of Monday afternoon (Feb 18, 2019), there have been 14 chimney fire calls dispatched out in the county during this winter season, according to Anita Presnell, a dispatcher with Watauga County Communications. For the same winter time frame last season there were 12 dispatch calls. For the entire winter season of 2017-18 there were 18 total calls.
