A local fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha, AKA “Pike,” are partnering with the Boone Police Department once again to help the less fortunate in our area.

Pike is a nationally recognized fraternity of young men who strive to give back to the local communities. Pike works with various organizations in the Boone area including Hunger and Health Coalition, First Presbyterian Church, and Grace Builders, just to name a few. The chapter of 60 young men takes pride in the ability to give back.

Pike is currently running their annual coat drive to benefit the Crossnore School so kids can be prepared for the coming winter. Pike loves working with Crossnore and their students. They host a Valentine’s Day Dance for the students and host an annual campus clean-up effort. All adult sized coats will be donated to the Hospitality House in Boone for appropriate distribution.

“Pike’s relationship with Crossnore has given me a tremendous opportunity to give back. Serving the students at Crossnore has been a privilege for me and an experience I wouldn’t trade,” Aristotle Moulopoulos, a Pike brother.

The Boone Police Department is happy to partner with Pike in their effort to help people in need. Please drop off any donated coats at the Boone Police Department, Grace Lutheran Church, and First Presbyterian Church. If you have retired winter apparel, please contribute and help the students at Crossnore have a comfortable winter.

This coat drive will end on November 10th, 2016.
