On March 8, 2013 at 12:54 a.m. the Boone Police Department received a report of a suspicious incident in the 200 block of West King Street. A female reported that a Hispanic male attempted to engage the complainant in conversation in Spanish. The complainant ran to her apartment and reported that she heard his footsteps behind her. The complainant safely made it into her apartment and notified Boone Police. The caller described the subject as being approximately 5’4”, heavy set, and in his thirties. He was last seen wearing a red plaid jacket and dark pants.

“At this time it does not appear that a crime was committed; however, we wanted to make the members of our community aware of this situation after what occurred a few weeks ago. We cannot say that one incident is related to the other, but we do want people to be alert.”- Detective Kat Brackenridge, Boone Police.

On February 24, 2013 Boone Police took a report of a rape in the same area. The suspect in that case was similar in description to the subject in last night’s incident. Both incidents are currently under investigation by the Boone Police Department.
