Boone Hits 80 Degrees For Second Time In 2016, Pushes Past The Mark For Hottest Day Of The Year

For the second time this year Boone hit 80 degrees, while pushing past the mark enroute to the hottest day of the year. Topping out at 82 degrees, the Watauga Medical Center reporting station recorded 82 twice, 81 twice and 80 twice in a two hour and twenty minute span. Shower and storms on Saturday afternoon quickly dropped temps back to the lower 70s.

 Boone reached the 80 degree mark on Friday May 27  for the first time since September 2015. The last time the WMC reporting station recorded 82 was also in September, Friday September 4.
