Last Updated on January 1, 2018 3:07 pm

The bitter cold snap that began as 2017 was ending will continue to linger around as 2018 has gotten underway.

The National Weather Service says that a Wind Chill Advisory will once again go into effect from 6pm Monday (Jan 1) until 10am Tuesday (Jan 2). Advisories will likely be issued again for any given time Wednesday night through Saturday.

NWS says that another blast of Arctic air is expected Thursday and has the potential to be the coldest blast of the last several in this week plus long string. Thursday through Sunday the region will be totally in the deep freeze with temperatures averaging 20 degrees below normal through the weekend.

Wind chills starting Wednesday night and running through Saturday are forecast to be as low as 15 degrees below zero.
