A 28 year old bicyclist was injured just after noon on Monday (October 19,2015) after being hit by a car on Blowing Rock Road. The accident occurred when a motorist turning left into IHOP didn't see the biker and hit the man, according to the Boone Police report. The bicyclist was treated at Watauga Medical Center for a head injury and released. The 60 year old female motorist was charged with unsafe movement, while the bicyclist was charged with a no helmet ordinance violation.
