August 10-14 Traffic Reports/Conditions

Monday August 10

Adams Cemetery road will be closed by DOT today through the 13th. From 8AM – 6PM. Will be open after 6PM but closed from 8AM to 6PM.

No flagging operations/lane closures are scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock. Stay alert for vehicles entering/exiting 321 and side roads as well as private and business driveways from Norwood Circle to Food Lion Shopping Center as ALL TRAFFIC remains in a temporary pattern on the future northbound lanes through this section of the project. Also, stay alert to the temporary traffic pattern Tanger Outlets to US 321 Bus/US 221.

5pm from Watauga County Dispatch office – Lots of water moving across US HWY 321 S just south of Blowing Rock. Rocks, gravel, and debris is being washed across the roadway.

Tuesday Aug 11

Limited construction operations scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock due to weather and wet ground conditions.

Wednesday Aug 12

Flagging ops scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock south of Green Park Inn and near Blowing Rock Furniture Galleries.

9:50pm – Traffic backups on Rock Crusher Hill/105. Expect delays.

Thursday Aug 13

Flagging ops scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock south of Green Park Inn & near Blowing Rock Furniture Galleries.

Expect delays on 105 & Broadstone Road due to bridge work.

5:28pm – Traffic backups continue due to a wreck on 105. Several side streets also getting backed up due to congestion.

6:05pm – Expect delays on 421 at Valley Grocery in Zionville due to wreck involving a dump truck and a vehicle.

Friday Aug 14

No flagging operations on 321 in Blowing Rock due to ASU move-in.

2:08pm – Accident in front of Blowing Rock Fire station one on Valley Blvd. Emergency vehicle on scene and enroute.

3:09pm – Scanner reports of Boone Mall parking lot 321 side flooding. Fire Department and Police responding to a car that is stuck in the water.

3:12pm – According to scanner Boone Mall 321 side is being blocked off due to flooding.

Flood Advisory in effect until 7:15pm for Deep Gap and Todd, along with locations in Ashe County.

3:40pm – Boone Mall 321 side is back open, flood water have gone down according to Boone PD
