ASU Police Announces Project Lazarus Dropbox Location, Safe Place To Drop Off Expired & Unused Medications

The Appalachian State Police Department announced on Wednesday that they have added a location to drop off expired, unused, or unwanted medications.

 The drop box is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is located in the lobby of the ASU Police Department at the Rivers St. Parking Deck.

The drop box will immediately start accepting all expired, unused, or unwanted medication such as:
*Over the counter medications
*Prescription medications
*Prescription patches
*Prescription ointments
*Vitamins
*Pet medications
Any liquids should be tightly capped.

They  do not accept:
Regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs or commercial waste.

Parking at the Rivers Street Parking Deck is free for the first 30 minutes after you pull the ticket at the entrance gate.

Other drop-off sites are available at the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office, Boone Police Department, and Blowing Rock Police Department.
