The Town of Boone, Appalachian State University, and Watauga County are working together to ensure the safety of all guests, and to keep traffic disruption to a minimum.  Visitors to downtown will be able to park in any of the Town of Boone public parking lots, or on King Street.   After 5:00 p.m., guests may also park in the Human Services Center parking lot, which is just a short walk to the parade route, and downtown amenities.  For optimal parking and parade viewing sights, please arrive in downtown no later than 5:15 p.m.

Streets will close just prior to the parade step off at 6:00 p.m., all traffic lanes through downtown will remain open until that time.  For a short period during the parade, traffic coming into town from the west will be rerouted via the Poplar Grove Connector.  Access to downtown parking on Queen and Depot streets will be reopened at the Waters  Street intersection as soon as the parade has safely cleared the intersection.  See the map for detailed information about the parade route and street closures.
