Update – 4:45pm – Foscoe Fire has cleared the scene, road is back open. 4:15pm Thursday April 19 – Wreck – 105 South in Foscoe near Twin Rivers, truck vs moped, expect delays.

1:45pm Tuesday April 17 – Wreck – 421/221 intersection. Expect possible delays.

Watauga County Schools will operate on a TWO (2) hr delay for students and staff on Monday, April 16.

12 noon April 13 – 321 at Elk Motel is back fully open after early morning tractor-trailer roll over.

6am April 13, 2018 – -Tractor trailer on its side near Elk Motel in Boone. Material is in the road too, expect delays.

4:16pm – Accident on 421 near intersection of 194 at New Market Center. Expect possible delays.

Dutch Creek Road to be closed Wednesday for bridge construction completion. More information at this link. 

7:56am Tuesday April 10 – Accident – 105 in the area of the turnoffs to Shulls Mills. Expect delays.

4:11pm Sunday April 8 – Expect delays on 105 at HO Aldridge Road due to vehicle fire. Fire dept on scene.

6:35pm Thursday April 5 – Multi car wreck on 105 in Boone. Expect delays.

4:54pm Thursday April 5 – Expect some congestion on 105 southbound leaving Boone as Boone Fire works a fire at The Oil Exchange

Traffic Alert if heading to Beech Mountain – 7:49am – one lane is open per incoming social media reports.7:17am – Beech Mountain Parkway is closed until further notice due to structure fire, according to a robo call received this morning.

1:45pm Saturday March 17 – Reminder – King Street through downtown Boone will be closed for a short time for the inaugural St. Patrick’s Day Parade that begins at 2pm.

8:39am Wednesday March 14 – Getting report of Semi stuck on 321 near the state line. Expect possible delays in that area.

7:12am Wednesday March 14 – Wreck – vehicle off the embankment on 105 near Baird’s Creek Road intersection – expect delays in that area.

3:55 pm Monday March 13 – Accident – Expect delays on 105 at the top of Rock Crusher Hill, multi car wreck.

1:53 pm Wednesday March 7 – Single car accident on 194 at Brookshire Road near DOT, expect delays in the area.

8:24 am Friday March 2 – – Now getting reports that 321 at Watauga/Caldwell line is back open.

7:40am Friday March 2 – 321 mountain update – According to Boone Police – Highway Patrol is reporting several accidents on hwy 321 mountain/Blowing Rock and the road will be closed for another 2-3 hours.

High Wind Warning in effect from 6pm tonight until Saturday morning. Northwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph or stronger at higher elevations.

6:33pm Feb 26 – Accident – Blowing Rock Road in front of Boone Police Department. Expect possible delays in that area.

7:58am Feb 26 – Accident – 421/Boone Mountain in Vilas at intersection of Linville Creek Road. Expect lengthy delays.

5:38pm – Thursday Feb 22 – Accident – Edmiston Road, exact location unknown – Rollover wreck – Expect delays in the area.

5:24pm Thursday Feb 22 – Accident – Single car wreck on 321 near Trashcan Falls. Expect possible delays in the area.

5:32 pm Monday Feb 19 – Accident -421/Boone Mountain in Vilas at Quality Plus. Expect delays in the area.

8:03am Wed Feb 14 – – UPDATE from appstatepolice: #AppState ALERT (Update): All clear. The gas leak in the area of Legends has been stopped by emergency personnel. Area returning to normal.

7:28am Wed Feb 14 – Per ASU Police – ALERT: Gas Leak in the area of Legends. Emergency personnel on-scene. Avoid area of Legends, Howard St, rear Doughton parking lot.

11:50am Tuesday Feb 6 – Tractor and trailer stuck on Wilson’s Ridge Bamboo side. Expect some delays in the area. Law enforcement on the scene assisting.


Tuesday January 30, 2018 –  8:15am – Per incoming reports 421 at Watauga/Wilkes line is back open. Continued caution advised.

Tuesday January 30, 2018 – Multi vehicle wreck and spin outs on 421 at Watauga/Wilkes line. Per reports road is closed until it can be salted.

3:46pm Thursday January 17, 2018 – Elk Creek Road is back open after being closed due to multiple accidents this morning.

11:50am Thursday January 17, 2018 – Elk Creek Road is CLOSED for unknown amount of time due to multiple accidents. Main entrance and Jakes Mtn.

Traffic Alert 6:55 am Friday January 12, 2018 – one local bridge that usually floods already under water. This report came in via twitter “Dewitt Barnett bridge underwater. No cones or markers up yet. Foggy. Be careful.”
