Annual Boone BOO A Success, Town & Business Praised

Last Updated on November 1, 2016 4:04 pm

With unseasonal temperatures that felt more like July than October, the 16th annual Boone BOO! once again enjoyed a successful turnout.

Over 40 businesses participate this year as well as organizations such as the Appalachian State College of Education, First Baptist Church, and Watauga County Library, according to Virginia Falck, the Downtown Coordinator for Boone.

She tells WataugaOnline.com, “We were delighted to have teams from the Appalachian State Athletics department and of course, Yosef. We are grateful to all that participated to help make this event fun for community.”

Of course an event like this, which includes closing down a portion of King Street, is not possible without a coordinated effort from the business community and local agencies. Falck adds, “The Boone BOO! couldn't happen without the enthusiastic participation from the downtown merchants and Town of Boone staff from Public Works, Planning and Inspections, Administration, Police and Fire.”

Boone Police Department's Facebook page noted, “The Town of Boone can throw a great party.”
