1 Year Anniversary Noted of First Ever Tornado Warning For Watauga County

Tornado Warning…that alert was sent out for the first time in Watauga County history one year ago today.

The warning was issued at 6:29 pm for the remnants of what was once Hurricane Nate. The left-overs from the storm brought heavy rain, which lead to flooding in Boone.

According to data compiled by WataugaOnline.com about tornadoes in the High Country, that warning by the National Weather Service (NWS) was the first ever warning for Watauga County. For a more detailed look at the tornado data visit this link.
